About the Graham Gallery

Our Story

History and Inspiration

The Graham Gallery was founded in 2021 in the heart of downtown Bristol, Rhode Island, at 412A Thames Street. It grew out of a moment of change during the pandemic, when space opened up in Gary Graham’s architecture office as more work shifted to remote settings. What began as an opportunity to rethink the use of that space soon became something larger: a welcoming creative home for art, conversation, and community.

The gallery reflects the shared artistic vision of Gary and Suzi Graham, whose own watercolor and mixed-media work helped inspire the space. Rather than functioning only as a display venue, the Graham Gallery was conceived as a place where art could feel personal, approachable, and connected to local life. Its founders have described it as a platform for both established and emerging artists in Rhode Island and the surrounding region.

Inspiration

The inspiration behind the Graham Gallery is rooted in community, creativity, and openness. From the beginning, the goal was to create an inviting space where neighbors, visitors, and fellow artists could discover new work and experience the richness of local talent. The gallery’s programming and exhibitions reflect that spirit, with an emphasis on collaboration and on showcasing art that feels grounded in individual stories and regional identity.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
